Conformity Act
Conformity Act, or statute
A term used to designate Act June 1, 1872, c. 255, No. 5, 17 Stat. 197, providing that the practice, pleadings, and forms and modes of proceeding in civil causes, other than equity and admiralty causes, in the federal district courts shall conform, as near as may be, to those existing in like causes in the courts of the state within which such district courts are held. Since the adoption of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, 28 U.S.C.A., the Conformity Act is no longer effective. Hydraulic Press Mfg. Co. v. Williams, White & Co., C.C.A.I11.1947, 165 F.2d 489
